With all the great features of iPhone,
it's no fun when you lose your sound. Whether your iPhone has no sound, or the sound doesn't work for some apps
or functions, we're going to go over some basic troubleshooting
tips to help fix your phone. The tips that we will cover, will help
if there is a setting or software issue causing your problem.
These are things you'll want to try out before taking
your phone in to your wireless carrier or Apple.
If your iPhone has no sound when the phone rings or when on a call,
there are a few things you'll want to check out that could be the
    cause.

Turn the volume up using the side volume buttons.
If it was accidentally turned all the way down, it could cause the sound
to be so low that you couldn't hear. Check to make sure that your Bluetooth is not connected.
If it is, the sound is being transmitted through the earpiece.
Check your signal strength. A low signal may result in a phone call
that doesn't connect properly. If your ringer isn't working,
try changing to a different ringtone. Reboot your iPhone, then try making a call again. If your
sound is working for everything except your apps, then it's probably a settings
issue that is causing your trouble.

First make sure that you do not have your phone set to silent.
Most apps will not play sound when your ringer is set to silent.
If that is not the cause of the problem, check
the options inside of each app that has no sound. Turn the sound effects and/or
music on. When your alert tones aren't working for iPhone, you'll want to
check your sound settings. It could be that your alert tones
were turned off by accident. Text Tone. Make sure that there is a check
mark next to one of the alert sounds. If there is a check mark next to "None" then your phone
does not have an alert tone set.

Select a tone to enable alert tones. Tried all the troubleshooting tips and still your iPhone sound doesn't work?
If so, it's time to pull out the big guns. The last thing that you can try
is restoring iPhone to factory settings. If your sound issue
is caused by a hiccup in the operating software, restoring should
take care of the problem. Create a backup before you restore, so that you can return all your data to
the phone after you return it to factory settings.

If you've never restored your iPhone before, read Resetting iPhone to
Factory Settings for detailed instructions on how to do it.
Still No Sound from iPhone? If you've tried it all and still don't have any sound then it
could be a hardware issue. When the speakers of the phone stop working, unfortunately there is nothing that you'll be able to do to fix the phone.

You'll have to contact your wireless provider, or Apple, for more information about servicing or replacing iPhone equipment.

The company states that the iPhone Forever

In the world of electronics and wireless telecommunications, the iPhone is one of the
most popular devices there are. But, while exciting as newly purchased products, as these handheld machines begin to age, as many people are seeing, their fragility becomes apparent.

Electronics of any kind do not last forever, and the amount that people use their iPhones on a daily basis
begins to take its toll after not too long. You can expect that after a while parts will start to
break and other problems will occur. Because of all this, repair shops that specialize in fixing iPhones and replacing their parts
are in high demand these days.

If, for example, your iPhone logic board breaks, it is much more cost
efficient to have just that part repaired or replaced, rather than getting a new phone all together.
The iPhone logic board is one of the most commonly replaced parts these days.
For those of you who do not understand exactly what this device is, you can think of
it as being to a cell phone what a motherboard is to a computer.
As your phone's main source of energy, it can be considered one of the most important parts
    - if not the most important part - of the entire machine.

Apple as a company is one that encourages its customers
to frequently upgrade the products that they have. Whenever a newer model or version of whatever it is that you have is
introduced to the market, you can take your device into
a retail Mac store to get the necessary upgrade.
But sometimes unexpected problems occur with your iPhone logic board that has nothing to do with
whether or not there is a newer version available.
It is easy to tell if there is a problem with your iPhone logic board.
It will be obvious because you will immediately notice
that your phone as a whole is not working as it should.

The screen may freeze on a certain image, color may cease to be displayed correctly, or
your screen could stop working all together. When this occurs, the
first thing that you should do is take a deep breath.
There is no need to panic - panicking, after all, achieves nothing but making the situation worse.
The problem may not be nearly as bad as it seems, and the best thing to
do is to take it to a professional technician as soon as possible.
This person can give you a diagnosis and prognosis.
Chances are, you will not have to waste money on replacing your
entire phone. It is especially unnecessary to get a
new phone if the iPhone logic board is the only part with a problem.
Nowadays there are many stores and online companies that specialize in replacing
and fixing broken iPhone components. Shopping around a little bit can help you find the
best possible price. If you are moderately knowledgeable about technology, you may even be able to do the swap yourself and save
    more money.

The iPhone 4 is known for a number of different things, but taking great phone calls
is not one of them. The iPhone 4 has come under fire since its
first release because of iPhone antenna issues and dropped calls across the board.

It is not uncommon to find the iPhone 4 with No
Service listed where your "bars" should be, but the No Service phenomenon is one that is
pretty common no matter what type of smartphone you are using.
Here are a few tips for trying to fix the problem when your iPhone has No Service.

The reality is that there is a problem with the
iPhone 4's antenna and you are not going to fix
    it easily.

Instead you should try to troubleshoot these iPhone 4 antenna problems with
the suggested methods. The easiest is to just use the duct tape on the side of the phone, or adjust how you hold the iPhone 4 so
that you do not have a tight grip on the lower left hand corner.
You should also use the free Bumper case that was offered to
iPhone 4 users through an Apple scheme. If you are not getting any service there are a few easy things you can start off trying.
Mode is on, and if it is you will get No Service on your iPhone 4 even though it may
not say No Service explicitly. You may have
to wait several seconds, up to fifteen, after turning off Airplane
Mode to find that you will have iPhone 4 service again.

If that does not fix it try using the Sleep and Wake button once or twice to see if that repairs the service
issue. If you are seeing No Service independent of what you do on your iPhone
4 then you may be out of your general service area. This is less usual than it was in the
earlier days of cell phones, but you still can get into regions where
you lose service altogether. There are often times when the No Service message on your iPhone can be caused by issues
with the 3G network. There is an easy way to troubleshoot this and it is even recommended by
AT&T. Start out by going into Settings and selecting General.
From here go to the Reset option and then choose Reset Network Settings.
This will prompt you for a password if you have already put
one in place. Once you have reset the network settings then your iPhone will
take a few minutes to restart. Once it has come back hopefully your phone and 3G network service will return. This is actually a similar process to what
you would do for an unlocked iPhone. Source: Author's own experience.

Will Apple Replace My iPhone 5 Because of Faulty Camera? Hi,
I live in Australia and I've had my iPhone 5 for under a
year. Recently, the camera won't focus at close range,
and this is very important to me as I need to photograph a lot of paperwork
etc. So you can't read the words as they are blurry.
I've heard that Apple pretty much replaces your
phone if it is damaged in any way, no matter how minor, with a refurbished one.
Will I be able to get it replaced because of this
small problem? Also, the problem is pretty much invisible
unless you try take a picture of small text, which I used to be able to do in the past.
I am on a plan with optus also and I have 2 years warranty with them (that's how long my plan is).
What would optus do for this matter if anybody knows?

So, if I go to the Apple store, with my receipt and my iPhone, will they
replace it on the spot? Or will they just repair it for me which will take some time?

Welcome to TNW Basics, a collection of tips, tricks, guides, and advice on how to easily get the most out of
your gadgets, apps, and other stuff. Look, you
haven’t lost your mind. Your old iPhone may actually be slower than before.
Because Apple introduced a software feature that slows your device down when it has
suffered a battery-related shutdown. Even if the change
was meant to stop iPhones randomly turning off, the fact the company did it
without the public’s knowledge (rightfully) pissed
a whole bunch of people off. In response, Apple tried to make amends in two ways.

The first was to give people a big price reduction on iPhone battery replacements.
The second was to let people turn the throttling
feature off. So, if you want to discover if this has happened to your phone - and how you
can fix it - check the video above. It’s short and gives you all the info you need.
Oh, you don’t fancy watching something? Well, that’s a shame.
Luckily, we have your back and you can read a text version of it here.

Remember though - Apple introduced the throttling feature for a reason. If you disable it, your phone might randomly turn off.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Want more TNW Basics?

It’s never been harder to repair your electronics. When the keyboard in your shiny new MacBook dies, you’ll have to send it to a Genius.
When the battery in your iPhone dies, you’ll have to break out the
pentalobe screwdrivers. The ability — or rather, right —
to repair will inevitably mean using electronics longer, and keeping them out of the garbage.
That’s less e-waste, but it’s also older, potentially slower and less powerful portable workstations.
This is the question: how long should you keep your
electronics running? When do you start getting
into the false economy of repairing
    something just because you can?

What is the minimally viable laptop? Moore’s law died a decade ago, and we’re
long past the Megahertz wars of the 90s and 2000s.
RAM is plentiful, even if Chrome gobbles it up, and network connectivity is ubiquitous.
We are in the age of stagnation of personal computers.
The exponential growth of computing power died sometime around 2004, and we haven’t looked back since.

Sure, there are advances like newer, faster, more capable graphics cards and RGB
RAM, but most applications for most people don’t require high-spec devices.
You simply don’t need to upgrade your computer as often now, and this sentiment
is shared with experts and amateurs alike. It was only a few months ago
that Apple discontinued the mid-2015 15″ MacBook, widely cited as
the best laptop ever made. It’s not unusual to see
actual hackers sporting a Thinkpad X220 or
T420, machines released nine years ago.

    We’ve seen bottom
of the barrel laptops before. We’ve lusted over them.
The eeePC, launched in 2007, was underpowered for its time, but it was just enough for some light browsing.
There were mods, and since there wasn’t a spinning disc drive, it was surprisingly responsive.
Throw on a decent Linux distro, and you have something.

Not much, but something. What is the minimally viable laptop?
How cheap is a machine that will allow you to do your
work? Right now, you can pick up some very nice business-class laptops from eBay for a hundred bucks.
You can get new batteries and power adapters for them.

If you manage to pick up a ThinkPad, all the part numbers for each of the components
are available, and you can find replacements anywhere.

Where is the Goldilocks Laptop? How low can you go on the price performance curve of modern computing devices?
No one would claim a butterfly keyboard Thinkpad 701 would be useful for modern work,
unless you’re one of the really weird vintage computer nerds on Instagram.
These days, very few people can claim they need a
    top-of-the-line workstation that’s also portable.
Video editors and engineers notwithstanding, just about everything runs in a browser these days
anyway. There must be a middle ground somewhere between the four inch
thick laptops of old and the modern day luggable.

The age of the minimally viable laptop is here, and it feeds right into our
right to repair. If your machine lasts longer, you’ll eventually need to repair
it. If you’re still running a mid-2015 MacBook, you’ll be looking up some iFixit guides eventually.

What, then, is the best laptop if you don’t care about having the best and most expensive.
That’s a question we’re opening up to you:
are you still using the computer you used to first sign up on Facebook?
What is the minimally viable laptop, and what computer can you buy today that will still be useful in ten years?

When it comes to iPhone repair, there are mainly two options that you might want to take under consideration. One is, dealing with the repair process all by yourself right at your house with the help of a tutorial, and the

the right equipments and have the right DIY guide to follow the repair procedure.
You can purchase the necessary repair kits and the
repair tutorial to get the job done. This is why it
is more preferable to go for the professional iPhone repair service.

A reliable iPhone repair service provider will take care of your broken iPhone with maximum professionalism and in many
cases these experts can fix an iPhone completely and get it back
to its normal condition. Although this option might turn out to be a bit more costly then the first one but
at least you will be able get the necessary assistance from someone
who is specialized in iPhone repairing. Moreover, you might find a
top quality repairer giving you a money back guarantee in case the device is not properly
fixed or not fixed within a specific period of time.
I was a bit surprised to learn that there are iPhone
repair service providers available in the market
who actually offers services like fixing an iPhone within a
24 hour period or else the customer will get his/her money
back! Now this is something that might give you an idea about their level of professionalism and expertise.
